It will not often be thought of as the funnest game in the realm of gaming, but keno has millions and millions of fanatical enthusiasts. And so it should! It’s a consistently entertaining lottery-like game that’s a snap to learn, readily available in many different formats, and one that can pay out millions for gamblers who learn its uncounted subtle nuances. But let’s start with the basic rules here.
When defining keno to amateurs, some gambling connoisseurs compare it to bingo. This is at least partly correct, in that both games are generally numerical. But to take that comparison too far can be to undervalue the good many unique aspect that make keno so compelling. Unlike bingo, keno players have the freedom to select the numbers for each and every card.
Keno cards have a total of eighty numbers, but the player is given an increased degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as numerous (or as few) numbers as he needs. And it doesn’t take a keno superstar to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your selected numbers with a ordinarypen like you used when you were in grade 3.
Once you have checked your numbers, take your game card back to the keno pit manager at the keno booth. The keno pit manager will record your numbers and then hand you a receipt. Make sure no to drop this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your face and wants help out, without a winning ticket on you, you will win precisely $.00 for your winning card.
So, there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let’s go on to something a bit more useful, what do you think?
After you’ve checked off your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and see the action unfold on a monitor. This is where the winning numbers are displayed for us. If you’ve got winning numbers, mark your card appropriately. Sake care not to take your time, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You really want to get up to the keno booth to get your winnings, as a new drawing will certainly start up within 5 minutes.
Strategy #2: always go back to the keno booth on time!
Assuming you can not trust yourself to beat that 5 minute margin each and every time, you always have the option of using a "multi-race" card. These include the self same set of your handpicked numbers on anywhere from 2 to 20 slips. When the max amount of rounds (the same as the number of tickets) is played, you can then get off your numb back side and go collect your winnings.
Yet another choice is known as a "stray and play" keno ticket, which generally allows you make number choices for thirty rounds or more. Hell, you can take vacation to France and not have to fret about getting back in time to retrieve your numbers. Most "stray and play" game cards are good for up to a whole year after you by it!
So now you know a couple of necessary methods for winning keno. If you are an advanced player, they might seem stupidly obvious. Still, it doesn’t hurt to study up on the fundamentals, and if you are a new player, every bit of advice will help make your keno playing time more agreeable.
